Rocklin is a city in Placer County, California. It is a primarily residential community located north of Sacramento. It shares borders with Roseville, Loomis, and Lincoln. As of 2006, the city's population was estimated to be 50,920 people. Rocklin is conveniently located near Highway 80 and offers easy access to other areas; it also is tucked far enough out of the way for married couples and families to enjoy some country air and beautiful landscapes. Lincoln remained a sleepy town until the mid-1990s, when the suburbs of Sacramento started expanding out past nearby Roseville. The city is now enjoying a new period of growth. As of July 16, 2007 the population has been said to be 39,566, a growth of 236.8% since 2000, making Lincoln the United State’s fastest growing suburb. In June 2004, Lincoln gained additional notoriety when it opened the first casino in the greater Sacramento Metropolitan Area, Thunder Valley Casino. In 2006, Lincoln was named an All-America City by the National Civic League. Folsom is a city in Sacramento County, California. Folsom is most commonly known by its famous Folsom State Prison. Opened in 1880, Folsom is one of the oldest prisons in the state of California. The presence of Folsom Prison has not prevented young married couples from moving to Folsom to start a family. As of 2007, the State of California's estimate of Folsom's population is 70,835. Folsom State Prison was made known to the outside world by country music legend Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash narrated a fictional account of an outlaw's incarceration in his song "Folsom Prison Blues." In addition, Cash performed two live concerts at Folsom Prison. One of the biggest traditions of Folsom is the annual Folsom Rodeo. The Folsom Rodeo is an annual treat for married couples and families to enjoy. A 4th of July staple for many years, the rodeo has entertained Folsom’s married couples and families at the Dan Russell Arena (right by City Park). Fair Oaks is known for its mix of suburban and semi-rural neighborhoods that many married couples and families call home. With easy access to Sacramento, the city has many beautiful homes on large properties. Originally a citrus grove, it is now a thriving residential community. The population was 33,088 at the 2008 census. Fair Oaks is bounded on the south side by the American River, on the north side by the city of Citrus Heights on the west side by Carmichael, and the east side by Orangevale. Fair Oaks's town center is known as Fair Oaks Village. The Plaza Park Amphitheater is located in this part of town. The Fair Oaks Theater Festival takes place here.
